Employers Invited to Shape the Future Workforce Through Industry Skills Partnership Meetings

Businesses across Halton and the Liverpool City Region are being encouraged to take part in a series of Industry Skills Partnership (ISP) meetings this September as part of the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP).

Led by the Liverpool City Region's Chambers of Commerce, the LSIP programme is helping employers influence future skills provision, workforce development and training priorities. With more than 51,000 employers reached and over 600 detailed employer interviews completed, the initiative is placing business needs at the heart of the regional skills system.

The Industry Skills Partnerships bring together employers, training providers and key stakeholders to discuss workforce challenges, validate LSIP findings and develop practical solutions for the future of each sector.

Why Get Involved?

The ISP meetings provide employers with a valuable opportunity to:

  • Influence future skills and training provision
  • Help shape apprenticeship and workforce development programmes
  • Share sector-specific challenges and opportunities
  • Network with other employers and industry leaders
  • Support the development of future talent pipelines
  • Contribute to regional productivity and economic growth
  • Stay informed about emerging trends including AI, digital transformation and sustainability

Supporting Business Growth Across the Region

The Local Skills Improvement Plan identifies several key challenges facing employers, including recruitment and retention, leadership and management development, digital and AI skills, green skills, workforce development and work readiness.

By participating in the Industry Skills Partnerships, businesses can help ensure that future training provision reflects genuine employer demand while supporting the development of a skilled workforce capable of meeting future economic challenges.

Employers interested in attending any of the Industry Skills Partnership meetings can register their interest through the Liverpool City Region LSIP programme via Halton Chamber of Commerce.

Together, businesses can help shape the skills system, strengthen local talent pipelines and build a stronger economy for Halton and the wider Liverpool City Region.
