Halton Chamber’s Annual General Meeting

On 5th December 2023, Halton Chamber held its Annual General meeting at The Heath Business & Tech Park, Runcorn.

Val Allen, Chair of Halton Chamber presented a recap of 2022. In 2022, the Chamber had a year full of face to face breakfast meetings and training courses along with a very successful Halton Business Awards. The Chamber successfully delivered two fully funded peer networks cohorts and fully funded international training courses for over 70 delegates. We also welcomed James Timpson, Chamber Patron, at Halton's Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) Launch at Riverside College. AGP Accountants went on to give a review of the 2022 accounts which were then approved.

Appointments to the Board, Resignations and Re-elections to office

The meeting continued with Stephen Young, CEO of Halton Borough Council being appointed to the board and Val Allen resigning as Chair, we thank Val for all the work she has done as Chair of Halton Chamber.

Ian Hayhoe was appointed as Chair and we are delighted that Ian is taking on this role for what we hope will be yet another prosperous year for Halton Chamber.

Stephen Nickson was appointed 1st Vice chair, and Robin Tudor elected as 2nd Vice chair, with Edwin Santley and Mark Downing stepping down from their roles as Directors. We thank Edwin and Mark for all the work they have done as Board Members of Halton Chamber, and we look forward to welcoming Stephen and Robin for another year as vice chairs.

Review of the Chamber by Rachael Owen

This was followed by a review of the chamber for 2023 by Chief Executive, Rachael Owen who celebrated the achievements of the Chamber over the past year. This year the Chamber welcomed 545 attendees to 1stuesday networking meetings and also had 56 attendees over 5 courses on fully funded, 3 day, International trade training courses. Rachael further spoke on the success of the Chamber’s events, including the Halton Business Awards which attracted around 400 attendees. The presentation finished with a look to what the Chamber plans to achieve in 2024, which includes the return of the Halton Business Awards on the 7th June 2024.
