Local Businessman and Chamber Member Proves Knock Out Success For Local Charities

Managing partner of Anthony’s Travel Richard Bamber is winding up his two year term as the chairman of the north west confederation of passenger transport (CPT - the industry voice for the bus and coach industry ) after raising nearly ten thousand pounds for halton and NW based charities at the CPT annual dinner dances held at the Titanic Hotel , Liverpool.

As well as representing the interests of the coaching industry at meetings , Richard was able to select the charities who would benefit throughout his tenure.

Commenting on the chosen charities Richard Bamber said:

“Anthony’s Travel are well known for our award winning community ethos , support for local charities and good causes. In previous years the charities selected have been either national or international charities. As I am the chairman of the CPT north west region I thought it would be fitting to support charities within our region that support our passengers and our own teams. I have a greater insight than many into the work a lot of Halton based charities do so I am pleased I have been able to use my influence to further support some truly amazing local causes.”

The charities selected by Richard were “The Cathie Stankevitch Foundation, Halton Haven, Macmillan, Nightstop communities North West and the Stroke Society."

One of Anthony’s Travel own team has been receiving support from MacMillan so at the latest dinner dance Richard arranged for boxing gloves signed by Tony Bellew to be auctioned raising a further £900.

Richard further added “for the latest dinner dance I also wanted to support local artists so the amazing Alison Daily and The voice kids semi-finalist  Will Callan both from Runcorn entertained the 300 strong crowd . Both were fantastic, a wonderful night was had and we were able to raise much needed funds to support these great causes."

"Thank you so much to Richard for choosing Halton Haven as one of the beneficiary charities for his time as Chairman of CPT NW. We are absolutely delighted to have received an incredible donation of £1,995 from the annual ball and incredibly grateful to Richard and all who helped raise this marvellous amount of money. The donation was hugely important in allowing us to refurbish our Inpatient Unit, creating a warm and welcoming environment

for our patients and their families. This refurbishment, and the rest of the Hospice's activities, are massively reliant on the support of local people and companies. Without people like Richard, we wouldn't be here today. Thank

you so much."

" We are delighted that Richard Bamber as Chairman of the NW cpt and Anthonys Travel have chosen NCNW to be one of their chosen organisations. We cannot thank all the team for their continued support for us as a local community organisation supporting people who maybe facing a crisis, it is truly appreciated"

“To receive over a thousand pound from members of the NW CPT is fantastic for the Cathie Stankevitch Foundation and will enable us to expand our Youth Club provision for local disadvantaged children.

We were honoured to have been chosen by Chairman Richard Bamber and his ongoing support will continue to give inclusion opportunities to children and young people who suffer from financial hardship and an increasing lack of social opportunities.

Richard has once again shown his passion for making a difference for those in our communities that are most in need of support and we are truly grateful that the members of the CPT were just as supportive at the Titanic Hotel Event in January 2019, in helping Richard raise a superb figure for ourselves and the other fantastic causes”
